Stray Leaves Vineyard

Grapes have grown on Cliff Meridth's land since 2009; the tasting room opened downtown in 2023. Flights run from crisp whites to the bolder "Wild" reds, with charcuterie to match.

Los Viajeros Vineyard

A single-varietal Malbec house on Highway 202, betting that Tehachapi's elevation mirrors Argentina's Uco Valley closely enough to grow the real thing. Views over Brite Valley from the patio.

Tehachapi Wine & Cattle Co.

Owners Mike Van Atta and Beth Hamilton run a working ranch alongside the vines — cattle grazing the same rolling hills that grow the estate's Primitivo. Sustainable farming is core to the operation.

On the Chamber Calendar

Full calendar ↗
AUG 15

Green Street Get Down

City of Tehachapi & Westlane Brewing's outdoor concert on Green Street, 6–10pm. Live music, local beer, downtown crowd.

AUG 15–16

Tehachapi Mountain Festival

The town's biggest weekend — parade, PRCA rodeo, carnival, pancake breakfast, and a pet parade. Held the third weekend of August every year.

OCT

Chamber Carnival & Terror Haunted House

Chamber-sponsored carnival returns to the Rodeo Grounds, alongside the Tehachapi Terror haunted house downtown.

Event dates are pulled from the Chamber and City of Tehachapi's own announcements — the Chamber's live calendar sits behind a booking widget I couldn't read directly, so double-check exact times at tehachapi.com/community-calendar before planning around one.

Pulled from the theater's own recent posts, not a live feed — this single-screen downtown theater (est. 1994, in the old 1920s Squires building) rotates its lineup fast, so confirm tonight's actual showtime at app.formovietickets.com. Also worth knowing: free popcorn with any ICEE, Thursdays 4–7pm during the farmers market.

Recurring, no fixed dates posted

Triassic Vineyards — live music most Saturdays & Sundays, 2:30–5:30pm on the heated patio.
Tehachapi Winery — live music some weekends (posted week-to-week on Instagram/Facebook @tehachapiwinery); annual Summer Music Festival in June and Fall Music Festival in October, exact dates TBA.
Dorner Family Vineyard, Los Viajeros Vineyard & Stray Leaves — nothing public currently scheduled. All three take private event bookings by appointment — call ahead if you're planning around one.
Only Tehachapi Wine & Cattle Co. runs a real dated events calendar on their own site — everyone else posts show announcements to social media as they're booked rather than keeping a forward calendar, so this list will go stale fastest of anything on the page. Worth a quick call before making a special trip for music.
A note on the links: the original wine guide pointed Dorner Family Vineyard's listing to the tour company's site rather than Dorner's own. This version links each winery to its actual, current site — Dorner's, Stray Leaves', and Discover Tehachapi's own domains — pulled directly from each of their pages.
